Our research has shown that Common Murre and
other seabirds are at an increasing risk of getting caught in fishing
nets. This is due to the large size of the fishing industry, which
also poses a potential oil spill threat. By studying the weights
of fledgling Common Murre chicks there is evidence of increasing
ecological imbalance in the Baltic Sea. (Please see links below
